Our Story
Eat Sustainable, Eat Local
Stonebridge Farm began as a pipe dream for the Neill family in 2016 – a vision to create a sustainable farm producing exceptional food while preserving traditional farming methods and rare breeds. What started as a modest ambition has grown into an award-winning enterprise recognised nationally for our commitment to quality, sustainability and agricultural heritage.
In a meaningful return to our roots, we recently relocated to Robbie’s grandparents’ farm in the townland of Ravara, County Down—land that has been in the family for over 140 years. This move represents both a continuation of family tradition and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Stonebridge Farm.

Our Philosophy
Rethinking Food
At Stonebridge, we believe that traditional farming methods, when combined with modern understanding of sustainability, create food of exceptional quality while respecting the environment. Our approach centres on three key principles:
Heritage Breeds: We choose traditional breeds like Saddleback pigs and North Country Cheviot sheep that are perfectly adapted to our local conditions and produce meat with superior flavour and quality.
Sustainable Practices: Our innovative feeding programme for our “eco pigs” utilises by-products from local food producers, creating a circular economy that reduces waste while enhancing flavour.
Family Values: As a family-run farm, we make decisions thinking of future generations. This means farming in harmony with nature, preserving rare breeds, and maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare.
Our Family
At the core
Family is at the heart of everything we do at Stonebridge Farm. Robbie, who balances farm life with his role as a wholetime firefighter, brings passion and expertise in animal husbandry. Louise, an accountant by profession, manages the business side of the farm while sharing Robbie’s commitment to sustainable agriculture.
Their three young children—Angis, Connie and James—are already developing their own connection to the land and the animals, representing the next generation of the Neill farming tradition. And completing the family is Rolo, our friendly brown Labrador who’s become the unofficial farm greeter!
The busy pace of life with careers, children and a growing farm business means there’s never a dull moment at Stonebridge, but getting out on the farm remains our true passion.

Our Future
The Next 140 Years
Having recently relocated to the family farm at Ravara, we’re excited about the future of Stonebridge Farm. The opening of our farm shop in late May/early June 2025 will allow us to connect directly with customers and share the story behind our products.
Beyond the shop, we’re developing on-farm experiences to educate visitors about sustainable farming and the importance of preserving agricultural heritage. We’re also continuing the renovation of the historic farm buildings, blending respect for tradition with modern sustainability.
As our Dexter herd grows, we look forward to adding our own beef to our product range, completing our vision of a diverse, sustainable farm producing exceptional food for discerning customers.
Join us on this journey by visiting our shop, following us on social media, or simply enjoying the exceptional products from our farm to your table.
