Our Sustainable Approach

From Our Farm, From Our Family, For Your Table.

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword at Stonebridge—it’s central to everything we do. Our “eco pigs” thrive on a diet that repurposes by-products from local food producers, creating a circular economy that benefits our environment while enhancing the flavour of our pork.

Our North Country Cheviot sheep are perfectly adapted to the local landscape, grazing naturally on our lush pastures while our traditional chicken breeds require fewer resources than commercial varieties. By choosing heritage breeds and traditional farming methods, we’re preserving biodiversity and agricultural knowledge for generations to come.

From Our Farm

Our outdoor-bred pedigree Saddleback pigs are the heart of Stonebridge Farm, nicknamed the “eco pigs” for their sustainable 5-star diet of spent grain from local breweries, whey from Mike’s Fancy Cheese, bread from local bakeries, and surplus vegetables from neighbouring farms. This unique feeding programme not only reduces food waste but enhances the exceptional flavour of our award-winning pork.

Beyond our renowned pig herd, we nurture a strong flock of pedigree North Country Cheviot sheep—perfectly suited to graze the County Down drumlins—producing grass-fed lamb and breeding stock. Our traditional Light Sussex and Copper Maran chickens deliver farm-fresh eggs with rich, golden yolks in various sizes and colours. Most recently, we’ve welcomed our pedigree Dexter cattle, with plans to produce our own high-quality beef in the near future.

At Stonebridge, we’re passionate about conservation, proudly showcasing our traditional breeds at local shows and working to preserve agricultural heritage for future generations.

From Our Family

Family is at the core of everything at Stonebridge Farm. The Neill family dream became reality in 2016, and recently we’ve come full circle by relocating to Robbie’s grandparents’ farm in the townland of Ravara—land that has been farmed by the family for over 140 years.

Robbie, who also serves as a wholetime firefighter, and Louise, an accountant, balance busy careers with their passion for farm life alongside their three young children—Angus, Connie and James. And no visit to Stonebridge would be complete without meeting Rolo, our friendly brown Labrador who’s always first to greet visitors!

Our recent move to the family farm at Ravara marks an exciting new chapter, with renovations underway and plans to open our new farm shop in late May/early June. We’re particularly proud of our growing collection of awards, including UK Pedigree Pork Producer of the Year and multiple championships at the prestigious Balmoral Show.

For Your Table

We pour our heart and soul into Stonebridge Farm, knowing that our dedication translates directly to your plate. Our award-winning pedigree pork offers exceptional flavour with cuts available from nose to tail—each one showcasing the distinctive quality that comes from traditional breeds raised with sustainable practices.

Our slow-grown, grass-fed lamb from the North Country Cheviot flock delivers sweet, tender meat that’s a world away from mass-produced alternatives. Farm-fresh eggs from our heritage breed chickens bring vibrant, rich yolks to your breakfast table, while our developing Dexter herd promises outstanding beef with wonderful marbling and depth of flavour.
